About
This is Buckminster Fuller’s Synergetics.
Buckminster Fuller published his magnum opus Synergetics in the 1970s. In 1997, Robert Gray, working alongside E.J. Applewhite, scanned the entire text and made it freely available on the web. It has been the primary digital reference since.
This project carries that lineage forward — rebuilt with today’s web-tech. It brings the complete text over page by page from the original digitization, with supplementary editorial help from Buckyverse.org.
The site is built on Quartz, chosen for its fervour for bidirectional linking, among many other things. See the Systems Manifest for the full tool stack.
What you can do:
- Navigate — use the explorer in the sidebar, or head to the Table of Contents
- Search — find anything across the full text
- Ask — the AI assistant is grounded on the whole book
- Share — copy a direct link to any paragraph and send it to someone
- Fiddle — explore interactive versions of Bucky’s original diagrams here
- Report — the feedback button on this page takes anonymous input, no login needed. You can also open an issue directly on GitHub
